Course Overview

This course introduces trainees to the key principles, concepts, and applications of commercial law as they relate to business, banking, and financial operations.
It emphasizes the practical application of legal knowledge to real-world commercial transactions, enabling learners to identify, interpret, and apply relevant laws in day-to-day business decision-making.

The course adopts a competency-based approach (CBET) — learners actively engage in simulations, case studies, and problem-solving exercises that mirror real business situations. By the end of the course, trainees will be able to demonstrate legal reasoning, advise clients, and ensure compliance with commercial laws governing contracts, sales, agency, and negotiable instruments.

 

Course Purpose

To develop in trainees the competencies required to interpret, apply, and comply with commercial law principles in business and financial transactions, ensuring legal compliance and ethical business conduct.

 

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, trainees will be able to:

  1. Interpret key concepts and sources of commercial law applicable to business.
